The best COA is to take the car for a drive on a dual carriageway or motorway where you can get a nice steady run for 20 mins or so. Also, make sure you have well over ¼ tank of fuel. Doesn’t need to be full or anywhere near, just clearly over ¼. This should trigger a regeneration and clear your DPF.

I do lots of short journeys mainly, I don’t have any faults on dad but I also did a error code read and got fault code p040d exhaust gas recirc temp circuit high - so is my real fault the probe sensor in manifold poss? |

Soot reading of 23.04 before or after regen? If after, that’s basically full. If before, what was it after regen? Should’ve got down to 6 or less if successful. Andy

As ever, check for air intakes leaks on the 4 hoses into plenum and the big intercooler to throttle body hose. Lots of threads on both on here Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Some folks have no issues with that code. Some do. I had it but do lots of long journeys. Maybe that helped. I had the sensor renewed 4 years ago. I cannot recommend to you more strongly to stop doing dynamic regens if you are not 100% sure of the status of the DPF and why you are having this problem. If you don’t know what you are doing, you need to speak to a DPF specialist: Google DPF Doctor who are a franchise and have agents all over the country. They can measure the pressure difference across the filter and apply chemicals to dissolve the blockage if there is one, before then attempting a regen which will clear the thing to a nearly new state.
