I’ve only ever used the services of either an Aston Martin paint shop, who specialise in spraying a special UV clear lacquer developed for AM plastic headlamps. Or. Having the front’s clear PPF style wrapped using a UV branded PPF sir…

Not sure my rattle can skills would look very good!?! Unless there’s something I’m missing? And the clear coat is a breeze to use?

Hmm, plenty of masking tape and a steady hand then. I'll update when I get around to doing them, review the holts kit for you all.

Just been quoted £250 labour to fit new prop and gearbox service inc mechatronic sleeves/seal replacement and general check over by a local indy 👍🏻 couldn't get me in until end of July so hope thats a good sign... 3.6 TDV8 Java Black

That seams very cheap to me… Just make sure they are not cutting corners on quality of parts they are using sir… Rolling Eyes

Nooo thats just labour. I'm supplying parts. Genuine prop from advanced factors over 400 and a genuine zf kit with lifeguard oil, 300 notes 3.6 TDV8 Java Black

Got one of the headlights refurb'd yesterday 👍🏻

Not too bad tbf




I used an autoglym kit on a mates last year, better results than this holts kit so out of the 2 id recommend autoglym. I'll see how these go with repeat periodic applications of the sealer then I might try a meguiars kit if they fade again 3.6 TDV8 Java Black

GKN rear prop and ZF gearbox kit arrived today 😀

Genuine filter kit with proppa oil and mechatronic seals, 300 notes from www.gearboxoils.com , they've got an ebay store and do all sorts of gearbox stuff, not just oils if anyone needs anything!

Genuine rear prop from AF was just over £460 delivered 👍🏻forgot to use forum discount if it still applies 🤦🏻‍♂️

Fitting end of next month, 2 days before I need to tow the caravan 😬😬😬

Jobs for future include thermostat housing, rocker cover leaks, 1 or both heater control valves, rear hub bushes and a part worn pirelli on drivers rear if I can find one...*

Its all gone wrong 😪

Got combustion gases in the coolant, white smoke under load when cold

Cam cover gaskets pìssing oil out, and strangely there's beads of coolant present when you wipe your finger along the cam cover/head join

Thermo housing is cracked

And 1 oily MAP sensor with P023D-22 on the same bank so potential turbo failing

My indy has quoted minimum £3500 to pull the engine, do head gaskets, turbos and cam covers plus associated bits

So I've made the decision to break it 😪

172k miles mate, I've got back into a D2 with my tail between my legs!
