looking like its going to be a 50" anyway

Also worth bearing in mind that SCEE(playstion) are doing most of their development with a heavy emphasis on 3D. We are consulting with them on the upgrading of their main UK studio to 3D which they want to do ASAP...

Might not seem something you need right now but if you're investing in a new display & play games it's worth bearing in mind.

I can appreciate the future in 3D and the commercial drive to supply it but personally I don't have a 3D tv at present as ok maybe on the odd occasion that you want to watch a 3D movie, stick on the glasses and away you go but until tech moves on a bit in the next 12-18 months I wouldn't subscribe. The only reason I mentioned it was it is a major technology being focussed on by the games manufacturer.

A few years ago at the European AV expo phillips did try to promote their passive 3D screen (no glasses required) & if one of the manufacturers could get that performing like the active screens they'd sell well.

If I remember when I speak to sony this week I'll ask what the internal view on 3D is.
