I think you are right Cam Tech Craig I had a split turbo hose made a terrible sucking sound on boost plus a drop in power. |

What fault codes are actually stored on the car? |

Thank you for the replies, the actuator is holding the VGT open constantly and this is the reason for the noise, when the actuator is disconnected the noise goes away. I’ve physically inspected the whole system and there are no air leaks. I’m going to go with electrical is the issue as the actuator can’t communicate with the car. There are no fault codes stored. Turbo Rod which connects to the actuator moves freely without any interference so that’s a good sign? |

Thank you BB, I had a very intense search when you mentioned it but couldn’t find anything. I will have a look on Topix, and I’ve been looking at the wiring diagrams. Will have a play today and see what I can come up with! Thanks alot |

I wonder if this thread is any help. It is pretty long but on page 8 Red Merle posted a solution to the problem he had. May not be relevant but you can look.

Unfortunately I think the fix above is a preventative measure. If it is what is wrong with yours, fingers crossed not, then fixing it once it has happened isn’t as straightforward as the TSB. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Problem Solved, horrendous amount of play in the turbo. Currently in the process of changing it myself without lifting the body. See how this goes... |
