Driver seat bolster

I've seen this mentioned in buyer's guides so it can't just be mine - there's not enough support on the door side seat bolster in my 2010 4.4. It looks smart enough for its 108k miles, certainly better than many other used examples I've seen online.

Is there any fairly economical repair to restore the padding in the bolster? I assume this would involve taking the seat out and giving it to a trimmer? Has anyone done this with any success?

Some useful information can be found here: https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post396593.html#396593

I’m thinking of doing a repair & swap later in the summer. Probably take both seats out to allow work on them indoors.

P.S. this is a good site I found for colour matched leather repair products should you need them. ( I’ve not used them yet so can’t vouch for their effectiveness or quality. )

Furniture Clinic products are excellent, used them for years...

Make sure you use adhesion promoter first and get some CrosslinkerX to add to the paint and finish, it will last much longer using it, it's basically a two pack hardener so you have to throw away what you don't use, the professional trim guys don't use it to save waste so your job will be better than theirs...

Make sure you clean the leather well first, Cillit Bang and a scrubbing brush works well, you can be quite vicious with it but it must be very clean, you can even sand it down with 320 dry...

You can dab it with a sponge to get it on but spraying is much better, if you don't have spray equipment a cheap airbrush will do the job. Adhesion promoter, then colour, then Leather finish (I use satin) wait a week and then leather feed, a lot say it won't penetrate painted leather but I found it helps... Thumbs Up Pete

I’ve bought a new seat base foam and associated pads for my 2011 4.4 Tdv8 Vogue SE.
Drivers bolster has softened over the years so decided to renew it. Robin at Duckworths sourced the lot. Not cheap but once I find a RR experienced trimmer it should look brand new. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Looks like Rimmer Bros sell the bolster, then I just need to find someone to take on the job
