Well I did say it was sedate. Cruise on at 56mph to keep up with the trucks and it was the most mind numbing drive ever. I don't think I'll be repeating it again in a hurry. |

Everyone is surprised when I tell them I'm getting 36mpg on the motorway. For the size and weight they are a superb choice over the alternatives. I'd agree the X5 is not a suitable replacement for a FFRR. I love my BMWs but the X3 and X5 are not designed igned for off road. I had an X3 35d with the 3.0 straight 6 twin turbo and 286bhp. A superb tow car with lots of torque but not in the same league as my Westminster. X5s have a bad reputation for reliability too but I suspect like everything, they become affordable at a certain age and people buy them and try to maintain them on a shoestring. You can't do it. |
