Bought a shuttlecraft / tender for the 405.

After 5 1/2 years and nearly 150,000 miles from new, my 405 has decided to break. The independents here are snowed under and I’m stuck with the car off the road for many weeks Big Cry

To make it worse, it’s the only car in the household.

So, I’ve just gone back to the very beginning and bought another Freelander 2, while the 405 takes a long rest at the garage…

I may well keep it ling term and save the 405 for “best”.

I even quite like the O’ell plate!

SDV8
Instant and total power loss.
In garage for two weeks and all they can tell me is that the engine turns over, compression is fine andcthey suspect a fuel supply / fuel pressure issue. Should know more by the end of the coming week…

I had the same model and year FL2, an HSE SD4. A great car, well equipped and did pretty much everything a FFRR can except effortlessly waft. I was also on the sister forum Freel2.com.

Got a great price for it when I bought my first FFRR and the dealer sold it on within hours.

FL2 is a great car... Tonnes more honest than the Evoque that's based on the same design yet 2 or 3 times the cost! Thumbs Up

It’s funny having one again.

My first LR was an FL2 2.2 XS TD4 manual, new in 2011. Followed with two more and the two D4’s before the Fatty. I love how light and nimble it is!

My dad has had one for many many years, except for the standard FL2 pinion bearing issue it’s been an absolutely superb car!

Things happen, it's still good going 5 1/2 years without issue.

I’m happy to have a £3,000+ bill if it only happens once every 5 1/2 years!

Seriously considering running the Freely into the ground over a few years and saving the RR for best and still retaining life in the RR for post retirement 😁

Rolling with laughter I have just bought a FL2 SD4 HSE for the wife, picking it up today.

Important to check service history for the 7Y service that it had the Timing belt, idler and tensioner pulleys have been changed, also best to change water pump at that time also.

The number I have viewed without this being done is crazy! 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
