Does the L405 have a speed limit warning bong? My wife's Yeti has this and is useful on mine all I can see is the speed limit for the road I'm on but no warning if I exceed it. thx. overfinch modified

My 2012 Sport did but it appears to have been either dropped for the L405 or never existed in the full fats. I miss it and the analogue clock. Chris

It has a speed limiter - well the early ones do anyway. There is a switch by the cupholder that if pressed will allow you to use the cruise control feature as a speed limiter - it will allow you to accellerate to a given speed and no further. Current:

I may have misunderstood the OP but I am referring to the speed that could be set so that a warning 'bong' sounds when it is exceeded. Nothing to do with speed limiting or the road speed limit. Chris

No bong or chime when exceeded. I use the ASL feature on the highway and in school zones. Dan. 🇨🇦 2013 L405 5.0 SCV8

I had a “bong!” in my new Ford Ranger and it drove me nuts, so I switched it off! Seemed a good idea at first, but if you want to limit your speed, the quieter FFRR way is better IMHO! Thumbs Up â€śIf it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Not quite sure why you need a bong? with the limiter engaged you can keep your foot flat to the floor and it wont exceed set limit so why would you need a bong? Have I missed something?

I have just reread, I assume the original question is, as the car identifies the speed limit of the road on which you are travelling, does the car warn if you exceed the actual speed limit, short answer is no, but if you have waze then you can set that to warn if you exceed the speed limit of the road you are on.

Again, nothing to do with speed limits or the ASL.

It might never have been available on the L405 but my 2012 Sport had a 'bong' that could be set to any speed. It may have been available in the L322 but I don't know. I think it was in the 'vehicle set up' menu so not something that you would change frequently. I had it set to 73 to warn me that my speed was creeping up without me realising, as it tends to in these cars while you waft along.

I found it very useful and have never used my ASL. Chris

Actually it will, but only if you have traffic sign recognition, from the owner's manual:
Quote:
The three basic functions of the traffic sign recognition system are as follows:

Speed limit detection: The instrument panel displays a corresponding sign.

Speed alert: When the vehicle's speed is greater than the detected speed limit, a warning is displayed. The instrument panel displays a flashing red ring around the detected speed limit sign. Speed alert can be switched on or off, or the settings can be adjusted to display three different settings:

When the vehicle's speed equals the detected speed limit.

When the vehicle's speed is 10 km/h (5 mph) above the detected speed limit.

When the vehicle's speed is 20 km/h (10 mph) above the detected speed limit.

There should be an option in the TSR menu for speed alerts, it is possible however that it is not enabled in the CCF.
IIRC even when enabled the overspeed alerts only show in the instrument panel and not the HUD.
