A battered and rusting 1980 Range Rover is being touted to sell for a six-figure sum at a UK auction next month - and it's all because experts believe it was formerly owned by one of the biggest icons of the music industry.

I can never understand why a car is perceived to be worth more just because "so & so" owned it.

Even if this was owned by Jacob Marley, its still not worth £150k, some would describe it as heavily patinated. |

The whole story just looks like clickbait to attract a bit free publicity - it might be a story after the auction |

A little known phenomenon of vanity plates, if you stand back 20 metres and squint, they all seem to read 'tw@t'... especially the ones that need to have incorrect spacing or coloured fixing caps in non-standard fixing positions to massage the owners ego enough. |

People I have had in my cars at one time or another. Lloyd Grossman, Emlyn Hughes, Ivy Tilsley from Coronation St. Assorted Wigan Athletic FC players, Assorted Preston N.E players. The late Terry Nutkins, to name but a few. If only I’d known that pointing this out when selling the vehicles concerned would have added brewsters to the price 😄 |

A mate of mine has some of Cherie Blair's 'big pants' she left on a flight into Iraq, do you think you'd be able to quantify their worth? - to a normal person, not some pinko commie b'stard! |
