Hi Jay, I have this on my MY2017 and it only works with a cable, but reliably.

Thanks Gremlin. Have tried all of those and still no joy, even cleaned the fluff out of my port and the car. Just need to try another phone to rule out mine being the problem. It has worked so it should be ok, cant figure it out. |

Mine works very reliably via the cable. Never had issue.

It will only work with a cable, even my 2021 MY has to be plugged in!

Am I right in assuming you have the latest update on your iPhones (16.3)? If so then I would bet that the ACP in you car's Incontrol is not compatible. I'd call your dealer and ask for the latest update.

I must say that, since the latest ICTP update (S22A_22.32.4-928505), the connection is much improved. I am using a Cplay2air wireless adapter and I would say it fails only once in 50-60 connections. In that case, only a system reboot (car closed for 10 minutes) reenables the CarPlay connection... Still, it's acceptable, given the crappy intel atom NUC (Next Unit of Computing) mini PC that strives to keep the infotainment alive... |
