I would go for rear shoes can you see the pins that hold the shoes in place on the back plate has one let go new vehicle purchase

The brake shields tend to rust through where they bolt on then come unfastened and rattle about. That doesn’t sound like a rattle so I’d try what’s been mentioned already… handbrake shoes etc…..

Thanks MJ Dronfield - I'd say definitely not a rattle, more an intermittent scraping sound. |

Besides checking things mentioned in above posts, the sound could also be a bent / loose heat shield or section of exhaust, jack it up and have a look when inspecting the brakes etc. |

I had the same - I stuck my hands through the wheels and pushed the brake shield back a bit - quite hard to do and depends on style of wheels/size of hands! Seems to have worked.
