Sorry, but isn't it a bit more complex than that - ie the car is immobilised, so the fuel pump won't run, neither will the PCM for fuel injection etc. I'm fairly confident it wouldn't be a case of running the starter motor.

it will. i did that when ecu refused to start with button. Just modify starter relay in black box to have button on it. If you first press start button to switch power on engine will start. |

Does the 2004 L322 TD6 even have a starter relay to energise the starter solenoid on the starter motor itself? I've looked through RAVE and found references to Engine bay relay box (P125a) and the starter relay (RL16) but where is the starter relay? I can't find one.

Get a weatherproof pushbutton and either extend out of the electrical box or mount on the side, use that to trigger a 30A relay which you can wire across the heavy supply terminal and the output to the starter solenoid - much easier than trying to break into the relay board and decipher the connections. |
