The AJ petrol is the Jaguar 4.4 petrol engine, not the BMW unit. Think it was fitted for a year or 18 months around 2005 if I remember right. The engine choice then went to 4.2 Supercharged and 3.6 TDV8 afterwards.

Yes, it ended up heavily modified though... click on the green bit below my signature... same colour inside and out as the one pcourtney is selling. Whichever you chose they do not like sitting around not doing much, they need to be driven and used... Thanks I’ll have a look. Yes it will definitely be used daily but just for shorter local journeys mainly. |

You could be right! I may well end up doing more mileage purely for the enjoyment of driving it. I’d be interested to know what the diesel owners pay in tax. Whatever I go for ideally the lower tax bracket will help day to day running costs at least. |

If fuel costs are a thought, get a piece of paper & work out 3k miles at 20mpg for the petrol & 28mpg for the 3.6 diesel & see what the difference is, bear in mind that up here at least, diesel is 25ppl more expensive than petrol, that’s £1.13 a blinking gallon more expensive than petrol.

The AJ engines 4.4L (Non Supercharged) Started in 2005 - As they were the 2006 model year upgrade & are totally different to the BMW engined variant. Different H/lamps, Gearbox, Interior etc.

So just done a quick calculation using costs at my local Tesco… petrol 150.9 a litre, diesel at 173.9 a litre, using 3000 miles and 20 mpg against 28…..

Looks like the road tax on the early petrol cars is £360, but if you go after 2005 everything seems to be £630….

a way to find out the tax on the range rover is to find what you are looking for on autotrader and then look at the 'running costs'.

That's good to know. Pcourtney, please would you let me know when you are coming up to being ready to sell yours. I'm not sure if you received my pm but would definitely like to discuss it with you. Thanks |
