Help - way to open lower tailgate manually?

So main battery out for a full Ctek charge and check then I closed the lower tailgate Fortunately put an old sock in the catch for the upper so that can't close. Is there a way to open the lower one manually otherwise it's a long reach down to drop the battery back in. Had a feel around but can't find anything. Chris

Don't know if its the same as an L322 but they have a couple of manual catches either side (top corners), but they are fiddly.

Not just use a set of jump leads between the battery and car leads for long enough to press the button ? V8 or else ...

Thanks good suggestions but managed over the lower tailgate but it's long and heavy drop, for me anyway. Fortunately none of the little wires got caught up. Chris
