Was going to go 405 as mine is north of 230k had a look around but cant see what I am getting for a big lump of cash so spent a small bit of cash on control arms front and back plus a couple of wheel bearings will also have the diffs refurbished and about4 or 5 k on paint - cills are shot- so that will last for another year or two |

I'm in the same boat. Trying to justify the large outlay for not a great deal more. |

Same. It would mean forking out another £20-30k to get a decent year L405. To be honest, I would rather put that towards a L460 in a year or so's time when the production has got better and there are more ex demos around! My L322 has had all the stuff needing doing and runs without any prob so no need to change for me ..... but at 118,000 miles, It's got bit of catching up on you SandyT! |

On paper ( or my 'spreadsheet of doom') the running costs of mine are unjustifiable compared to something more sensible but with a trade-in value of not much more than £4k and nothing under £25k looking attractive a change is not justifiable either. The L405 doesn't appeal as it's too luxury orientated. A late ULEZ D4 is too much of a risk with the crank issues and the Disco Sport has the ingenium engine which looks like an even greater liability. Easier just to do nothing...... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Done the man maths but even that has resulted in me being of the same opinion to keep rather than upgrade. Mine is only on 86k and has had oil mod done in my ownership plus gearbox flush etc.

AFAIK all V6 engines throughout the JLR lineup are a risk as it's 6 cylinders squeezed into a 4 cylinder size block.... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I was very tempted to buy a 2017 L405 SDV8 2 months ago - mainly because of ULEZ charges

I’m in much the same position too, so I’ve just invested in 4 new Scorpion Verdes, so it’s staying for as long at they last and nothing else fails Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Stan, I have edited my post to say only Range Rovers with SDV8 V8 engines MY17 onwards, something to do with Euro 6 and Adblue additives |

MY16 SDV8 models are ULEZ compliant, so from late 2015 (65 plate) onwards. |
