Well, its hard to find an insurer for the L405, many simply will not quote.

At the moment only Tesco will provide a semi decent quote at £1350 (still £300 more than I was paying on my newer more expensive D5)

They ask for the name of the Tracker installed, which as we know is called "InControl Secure", but which they do not recognise. The only one that comes close is called "Jag Incontrol Secure" which I would assume is the same thing. They don't list anything that begins with Land Rover.

Has anyone else found a solution or the correct name? They don't show you a list to choose from, you have to type it in and then it tells you if there's a match.

Finding this frustrating.

Here's a list of insurers who have refused to quote me (47 yrs old, 11 yrs NCB, clean licence, no claims etc and live in east midlands, car on private driveway)

It's called "Landrover Secure Tracker" you can view and download your certificate with all details, as long as you have an Incontrol account.

On the dashboard on the RH side you will see all the items you are subscribed to and their expiry date. The tracker tab shows your certificate in your name with your vin etc

I presume you have a subscription for Incontrol secure? if not, your tracker is not working and having a certificate is useless and would compromise your cover.

The issue I am having is that when trying to complete a quote from Tesco Bank, they don’t list any trackers under Land Rover or InControl Secure. Discovery 4 HSE

I recently experienced the same problem when getting renewal quotes for my RR, nobody recognised the tracker.

I ended up going with the AA, the RAC was the next cheapest. 2024 P550e Autobiography

I have mine insured my cars with Swiftcover without any problem - including an Audi S8 with 750HP with competitive premiums and no issues.

My current landrover L405 2015 was renewed in July for just under £600 with 20K miles per year £750 excess (not glass) and protected NCD. That was with one collision (not my fault) declared, no speeding or other endorsements. I'm a bit older than you ( 58 ) and live in the country in East Midlands, on the drive overnight, wife similar age is on the car as well.

I have the tracker with in control but just selected - factory-fitted and standard (must admit I didn't look for a tracker!).

No connection with them - other than as a satisfied customer, they were great when I had someone pull out on me no hassle and full payout after writing the car off - although I have heard colleagues who have range rovers have had similar problems so I'm not surprised - but might be worth giving them a try ! L405 4.4 V8 Vogue SE Santorini Black

Could it be your occupation that is causing the issue? Difficult to change it obviously but it can be a major factor in insurance quotes. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23
