Instead of creating a new thread I thought I could bump a 4 year old one.

Personally, I prefer the 3.6 - a bit lower performance, 6 speed vs. 8 speed 'box but also more resilient - even with the age premium. I'm not sure about the 'Brunost' seats & trim though.... The prices seem high for UK but probably about right for Sweden. |

What work should been taken care of so I confidently can proceed with the 3.6TV8? |

Other than all fluid changes - including transmission, road test on some minor roads if you can, check for rattles or any 'unsettled' movement. Check the air suspension goes from access to offroad at least twice without any issues ('rising slowly' is OK if you do too many changes in a short time), look for uneven tyre wear, check all infotainment functions work, as do heated/cooled seats - don't rely on lights on the dash, check temperatures. The six-speed 'box can be a bit clunky when changing - it's a 'feature' but if there is roll-in or roll-out clunks, this can indicate transfer box or driveline issues rather than transmission, provided it's had an oil change...

if you're ok with buying a car, to accept there might be some more money to spend to get it completely sorted.perhaps. then prices for the 4.4 tdv8 cars can start here.. with this trade sale, with no guarantees etc. at 6000 gbp with just 114k, and is the westminster version, so has the heated/cooled seats. you could pay another 10,000 for a similar car, and get a warranty of course ... car is nothing to do with me, just stumbled on it recently. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304748185747?ha...R5KIwOanYQ |
