2012 L322 Preheater Remote

Hi,

The cold mornings are awful. Does anyone have a pre heater remote for sale for a 2012 Range Rover L322 Westminster?

I know it’s a first world problem, but it would be lovely

Thanks

Have you checked you have the receiver in the boot? If not, the remote won’t do anything.

You can still set it to come on at a set time using the screen… whilst you sort a remote….

I’m guessing it’s a T91 you need, with ON and OFF on the buttons?

Need to be careful with 2010-2012 model runs because the remotes look the same but there is a different part number for different chassis marks, to save yourself wasting money on one that won't work.

There was a topic on this recently:

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post644977.html#644977

You need to get the exact remote according to your chassis (of which there are 3 versions), otherwise it won't work. Ordering from main dealer with your VIN will probably be less hassle for not much more money (I think they're just over £100).

An alternative solution is to hook up a GSM gate opener to a timer switch, this will enable you to use your phone to activate the Webasto, but does involve some technical knowledge and a little bit of wiring.

If the remote is missing, there's a good chance the FBH might not have been run in some time. The fuel pumps are known to corrode and cause problems. Try firing it up from the infotainment system (ambient temperature will need to be below 5 degrees, so test late in the evening). If it doesn't work, you may also need a new fuel pump for it (not the end of the world and readily available on ebay).

Can be swapped over in 10 minutes with no more than a socket and extension:

Thanks mjdronfield and GaryRR. I should check I have the heater in fairness, as you have suggested.

I assumed I have one as the option for the timer is on the infotainment system. Never tried it but going to test as if it is there there is a fault with it I’ll need to fix that first.

Wasn’t convinced when i read about the mobile app and switch as I don’t fancy cutting the wiring up. I’ll likely get the wrong wires!

Many thanks for you advice, it’s really helped

Yes start with triggering it from the audio system when the temperature is below 5 degrees. The orange light on the fan knob should start flashing to indicate the ventilation system is running. You should then hear a clicking from the rear diff area of the car, plus a quiet whirring sound from the front left wheel arch (plus the smell of diesel burning).

If the system fails to run for whatever reason, there's most likely a fault e.g. no clicking indicates the fuel pump has failed and the system then switches off because there's no fuel feed. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

You will definitely have the fuel burning heater fitted, as it’s standard fit. It’s whether you have the facility to remote start it, but as above, need to check it working ok from being set by the screen first.

We have the remote, but the battery is flat.
Opened it up, expecting a cr2031 flat battery, but it’s a small tall battery
Anyone know what this battery number is\/ 2012 FFRR

The battery is a CR1/3N, best to get the Duracell batteries as the cheap ones don't cut the mustard.

I have a 2012 L322 Supercharged petrol LH Drive/North American model - is there a remote start option for these, or am I better off going through the aftermarket? 2012 Supercharged L322

You will need to have the fuel burning heater fitted to start with. Wasn’t standard fit on petrol models in the UK, but may have been in the US.

If it’s there I believe you just need to have at least a receiver in the boot and remote.
