Are you sure about the coolant? That engine was originally filled with G30 OAT, no silicates. G48 is HOAT with silicates. It's not recommended to mix the two and even if you double flush the coolant system with de-ionised water, it may have a detrimental effect on the seals.

Looking at the picture of your engine it looks like a 4.4 TDV8.

As David says, it's from 18 years ago when there was a choice of coolant (BMW engines and then Jag engines.)

G48 (HOAT) would be the BMW specified coolant, the LION platform engines TDV6 2.7, 3.0 & TDV8 3.6, 4.4 litre were PSA / Ford designed so would use G30 OAT, which was the default coolant at the time across PSA /Ford /Ford PAG platforms.

Ah yes, the vehicle specifications booklet - I've still got a well-thumbed hardcopy somewhere! |

Intake plenum cleaning... tedious task, I hate the bitumen that stains everything...

I'm thinking of applying the same paint treatment to the engine subframe, but I'm wondering how to temporarily hold it down. For L405 there is a tool but I wonder if the sidepods of L322 are prepared to support the weight, if you can advise me it would be very useful before making a decision.

I would LOVE to take the front of my car off in order to change everything on the front of the engine.
