Before fitting a HID kit to my D4's fill-ins I had a pair of driving lights fitted with a HID kit. I would switch-off the driving lights on bends because they made it difficult to see anywhere other then where the driving lights were lighting-up. I subsequently fitted HIDs to the fil-ins and removed the driving lights for better general use. My MY12 L322's HID fill-ins are far better than the D4's HID fill-ins, presumably due to a different reflector design even though the D4's had been re-aimed out of the trees above (possum spotters) but also with the L322's re-aimed upwards a little. |

I just had a look at your LEDs. The comparison will be interesting. |

These new ARB driving lights are adjustable on the fly ! Which be the new normal for offroad lights. Unfortunately, at around $1000 a light , I won't be ordering a set soon

Did you check the voltage at the LED while switched on using an oscilloscope to determine whether or not the 12V supply was stable? LED drivers pulse LEDs as they produce most light immediately after power is supplied, not with constant power so the flickering may not be due to the BCM switching the 12V supply on and off, which I doubt it does. |

Not yet, my 'scope is at work but my relatively fast DMM didn't show any spikes or drops, the pulsing (not on-off, more 70-100%) was visible to the eye and doubly so on a camera, I'm aware the scan rate may cause the appearance of strobing but the rate was the same as visible with the Mk.1 eyeball... |

I'll try to remember to take a picture of mine's lights with 55W HID shining on a shed wall when I arrive home after dark Friday night, not that shining on a shed wall tells much of a story. |
