tow bar wiring

Can anyone confirm if I am correct?

Pre-2010 vehicles the tow bar wiring plugs into the white control box in the rear RH compartment

Post 2010 vehicles just plug into the wiring loom in the spare wheel well.

If so, does anybody have a copy of the wiring/loom diagram for a 2010/12 vehicle
(or wiring installation diagram from a previous fit)

Yes, I have checked out the PF jones website, and that is how it appears to me. I am sure I have seen a diagram somewhere but can't find it.

Best wishes

I think I know what you are getting at, the wire coming from the plug in the spare wheel does not match the colour code for the towing plug 13-pin socket, the JLR socket is sealed against water ingress which makes it difficult to track where they go, I did pull it apart about 3 years ago but made no notes.

I can confirm the 2010 onwards plug in the wheel well is plug and play with the tow bar wiring, although I believe this only to be for a 7pin connection. Not a problem for me as I only tow a trailer, rather than a caravan for example.

(In reference to 2010-2012 cars)

The car can be programmed for a 13 pin loom or 7 pin. By default, it is set up as 7 pin.

It can be changed to 13 pin in the CCF files. I have 13 pin electrics fitted and 13 pin programmed to the CCF.

I guess balloonengineer has an old loom they're trying to retrofit to the newer model? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Mine had the two 7 pin sockets, I changed it to 13 pin and wrote the table above. BMW i3 Electric Car
