From what I have seen the jacking point is part of the deployable steps which would point to the steps being stowed, not deployed if that makes sense. |

Agree, steps stowed and switched off, using the step bracket to jack up. |

You can remove the step by undoing 4 hex bolts and then jack the front up on the bracket which is not motorised. |

Or you could put the car into extended mode leave the door open then work on the step. |

My driver’s side step was also stuck recently. I managed to sort it with silicon spray at all the joints and giving the step a helpful push with my foot at the time it was trying to close. Hope this may help. 2016 SDV8 AB |

For anyone interested, after lubricating all the bits and bobs I could see, the step now retracts. Little wins! 2017 (67) Vogue SE Corinthian Grey |

Just to be clear when jacking the car up the steps must be under the car? Then the jack placed on the steps brackets? How do you switch the step off so they dont work? overfinch modified |

You don't need to disable them manually. They automatically sense off road or jacking situations and disable themselves. Kev
