I agree. There is a retrofit camera available which fits in the upper tailgate, replacing the rubber button to open it with a new one which incorporates a camera. It can be hooked up to the existing camera wiring.

I mounted a camera next to the upper tailgate release switch. The camera is at an angle (45 deg?) to its flat base that attaches using 2 very small screws into the soft plastic beside the release switch. I built a switch box that uses relays to switch between the surround camera input or the tow-ball camera or the caravan's rear camera using a 3-posn rocker switch mounted in the top of 1 side of the cup-holders that is covered by the cup-holder cover when closed. The cameras need to be PAL. |

Do you have a link to any by any chance please ? I agree about sticking to PAL - there are good reasons why people in the TV industry refer to NTSC as "Not The Same Colour". |

Vehicles with surround cameras don't use the same reversing camera as non-surround systems. |
