There is a little button which presses in when the door is closed. Push it with your finger and see if the car still thinks the door is open. If so, probably related to the loom issue.

No there isn't - all the side doors have a hall-effect sensor built into the lock assembly that signals 'door ajar' to the GEM, the front doors do this via the P-bus link, the rear doors signal directly.

The connectors are listed as 'non-servicable' by Land Rover - however, Mercedes and BMW use the same pins and receptacles which you could replace the loose / corroded ones with. Alternatively, if you don't intend to remove the doors, pass wires through the empty cavities and bypass the affected terminals that way. |

So, took off the door trim and found a tie-in in the lock wire. The wire was laid in the ceiling lighting.

That'd do it - hopefully the corrosion in the photo isn't due to a leaking windscreen.... |
