Thanks for all the pointers.

I’ve checked the battery again and will try and attach photos.

Will try checking everything else now.

If voltage is 12.6v with the charger on and connected, it is not charging…..

Normal charging for an AGM will be between 14.2 and 15 depending on state of battery and temperature

Float / maintenance charge is something like 13.7

Will running a small wire from the small wire on the starter motor damage the ECU, if I connect it back to the battery to try and start it?

Starter motors on the 4.4 TDV8 are quite common points of failure.

David.

Ive taken the starter motor off and checked it on the vice and all good, put it back in the car and nothing.

Would the alternator stop the car from starting?

Whilst you may have a faulty starter, does a new battery need to be coded to the car? If it needs to be and isn't I'd imagine it wont change correctly. Encourage alternative fuels, use all the petrol!

I’ve told it the battery’s been changed but it was doing this before the battery was changed.

Can you get decent battery voltage with the charger connected but with a battery lead disconnected?

Does the ignition come on, just the engine not crank?

How did you test the starter motor? Just to make sure it moved freely or with a spare battery to confirm it engages and runs?

If the starter motor is functioning and the ignition turns on, then I'd definitely be looking at the circuit between the starter motor and the battery.

Can you get a multimeter clipped to the end of the connector on the starter to see if it's getting voltage when you press the start button? If no voltage then, inspect/change the starter relay (relay 6 in the engine junction box), to see if that is working when the starter button is pressed? There's the relay and 2 fuses to check.

The above steps should help find where in the line between pressing the start button and the engine starting the issue is - ECU end, battery, relay or starter motor end, as exemplified by the wiring diagram. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

How did you test your starter?

When the starter failed on ours, it would still spin when we applied voltage to the terminals directly but the bendix wouldn't engage when triggering it normally.
