An old post I know but I have this ticking noise when I first open the doors. I’ve removed this motor and ordered a new one.
Surprisingly with the motor removed the ticking still occurs. Is this normal?

I stripped mine down cleaned and greased it put it back in and resolved the problem I did buy another eventually and kept my refurbed one as a spare. Don’t think it should click without the motor in place but I am no expert and never tried mine without the motor. It’s just the gears jammed up inside the casing mine was full of fluff and gunk.

I assumed no motor no ticking, but not the case.

What about a bit of thread resurrection?! Started happening to mine - took that little motor/gearbox out - still clicking in same region. Any ideas collective wisdom lenders?! 2007 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8

I’m about to look at mine tomorrow as it’s not letting any heat into the car and clicking, I’m hoping it’s this and that it will fix the issues. I have got a friend that has one that I can try but I will try and clean it out and check first then post any news. _____________________________________________________
