4.4 tdV8 oil extraction pipe .

Has anyone got any pictures of the removal pipe under the engine that can be used for draining the oil ??
I am trying to determine if it has replaceable O rings inside or just a push fit.

Greg, I know you are a fan of this method of draining the oil. How does it seal ?

I am reluctant to remove mine , hoping that it is sealed OK. now, but am curious as to why it was leaking.

It's a push fit connector with two square buttons either side which you have to squeeze freakishly hard to get it off
I've seen these elsewhere on the engine pipework.
It doesn't look to me like the o-rings are replaceable.

. Cheers, Greg

Thanks Greg, if I suspect that it is leaking again I will have to look into getting a new pipe fitted., but it is fine at the moment and the garage wiped it clean and cleaned up the spillage that had pooled on the undertray.

Do you remove the tray to do your oil changes ??

Cheers

They can be carefully removed and replaced but TBH its easier to replace the whole connector. They leak due to ageing and constant temperature changes over the years. Same goes for the one on the 3.0l engine, in fact, its the same part.

Thanks Phoenix, I thought it must be deteriorating due to age.
It’s definitely not due to being taken on and off over the last eight years, or probably ever.

I will try and find a part number and price.

I'm fairly sure they only come as a complete assembly but you can tale the end fitting and the flexible pipe off and just fit that, there's no need to change the whole thing.
