I agree “gotters”, everything I know about DPF’s has been learned from reading posts on this forum, and sharing experiences between owners.

I don’t know if Pat has got round to including the DPF regen function in a general release update, because I am reluctant to update mine from the Beta build for fear of losing such a valuable function.
We need a Guinea pig who doesn’t have Beta to update their iid to the latest build level and see if it is included.

I have done a general update on my Gap tool and low & behold I appear to have the DPF regen function. Made no contact with Gap to get the function,to be clear.

Mike, and, or anyone else...

Had no yellow, red or other warnings, just playing with tool and if I am right my filter is just about full...!!

Also, this fatty has done 135,000miles, isn't that a very low number of regens...

Anyone like to comment... I take it I should go and do a regen, although last week it did 100 miles home at 70mph and 50 for some roadworks... why didn't it regen then..??

If the DPF has been replaced or cleaned and the regen counter set to zero ( can be done in the GAP IID tool) then that's not a lot of regens. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

It's just a number I suppose... more concerned about how full the DPF seems to be with no warnings... Pete

It's also possible someone has reset he DPF and not actually changed or cleaned it and thus it's partially blocked with ash (not soot) and showing a high differential pressure. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

that interesting that its reading 31.5g. and no yellow/red alarm. I thought it was supposed to go yellow at 24g. and red at 30g. but I do seem to vaguely remember a guy that had an issue, and it was over reading. I cant remember exactly what the problem was, or solution. if you can, and can plan a cruise, on a quiet stretch, do yourself a regen, and try and get it to half a gram. im thinking that that would be a calibrated clean, and not say having it end the regen at say 6g, which would be ok, but might not be a full clean, and a regen that 'counts' I thought I was all good at 3grams, when I was doing mine, but by the time I actually stopped the car, it was down to 0.3grams. you should see the total regens go +1 too. I was a little nervous doing mine, as it was quite late, and needed car the next day. but its been fine since. as it was late, I didn't see any extra smoke out the rear either, if there was any. my 200k DPF appears original, as its not been cut, and the hooks are nice and rusty, so seems like they do last.

Rob, I'm just sat here thinking.... "I think I'll just wait and see what happens..." I can always do one if it goes red... or just leave it alone... Thumbs Up

Maybe that's why it's done such a low amount of regens....?? Pete

Pete,
Sorry just come in and need some food, but quick answer for now.

My latest screenshots

Just for rough comparison.
Mine does Active regen at 19.2g, assuming a few miles at approx 50/55 mph and 1/4 tank of fuel.

Personally I would bite the bullet and do a Forced Regen and see where you stand after that.

Your oil dilution will be correct at 0 because you have just done an oil and filter change.

When you do a forced regen it doesn’t add to your number of successful regens.

I will log on again later.

I’d avoid a forced regen unless you absolutely have to as it generates a lot of heat and stress on components. It really should be a last resort to fix a blocked DPF. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
