Island 4x4's supplier for these radiators is Britpart.

Got a text message from APC Overnight at 17:45 last night telling me that my Britpart delivery had been dispatched.

Another text message at 08:37 this morning to say it was out for delivery and would be here between 08:37 and 10:37.

Driver arrived with the delivery at 09:18

Could this possibly be the weekend that she's finished!?!?

Just haven't done much on the car.

Friday evening the lad I'm having weld the compressor mounts came out to have a look and is coming to do it either this afternoon or tomorrow at some point. I was going to do it myself but came to the conclusion I'd blow holes in it rather then welding it so am letting someone who is a welder by trade do it for me.

Saturday I removed the exhaust so that we could access the bottom of the wheel well to reinstate the heat shield above the exhaust and did a spot of tidying in the workshop - not that you'd notice!

Sunday I had a day off the RR Quite enjoyed it actually!

Hopefully another update soon!

The lad who was doing the welding for me arrived today.

Good to see he arrived in a decent car!

Nice to have someone who understands why you’re working on an old car rather then someone who thinks you’ve lost the plot

Anyway, the brackets for the air suspension compressor are now mounted on the boot floor again

I then gave it another quick clean up and coated the whole floor with galvanising primer.

I gave it a good coating around the holes with the bungs in them and left it to dry. I’ll paint it properly tomorrow. Am planning on using the grey Epoxy Mastic from Bilt Hamber.

After that I reconnected the alternator, then refitted the fan and fan shroud. Reconnected the top hose and fitted the air con pipes to the condenser.

For the first time in 6 months it had the engine cover refitted too!

The air con system is holding 10 bar of pressure so far whilst being charged with nitrogen too so that’s a good start!

The pollen filter cover has cracked so am on the hunt for a good used one as they’re no longer available from Land Rover I don’t believe. It’s been covered with duct tape just now to stop it leaking. The engine cover has also been butchered when the LPG was fitted so am on the hunt for a new one of these too.

Finishing, I hope!

Going to coat the boot floor tomorrow with Epoxy Mastic and then we can look at mounting the compressor and being doing with it!

Good spot!

When I'd glanced at it I'd looked for the part number for the whole assembly as I hadn't realised the top half comes off!

Just been and glanced at the air con gauges and it's held perfectly steady at 10 bar for 21hrs so I'd say that leak is fixed!

The 2 pack Epoxy Mastic is now painted on the top of the boot floor. I also did the underside again where the welds had marked the original stuff I applied. All of the grommets have been replaced too.

The sound deadening I’ve ordered should be here tomorrow to line the wheel well and then the compressor can be mounted!

I ordered some sound deadening mat on yesterday that turned up today. I then tiled the boot floor with it. That’s one pack used, I might order another one but I can do that at any point.

I fitted the compressor and bolted that to the brackets on the floor.

I couldn’t get the pipes sitting properly so took the lid off the compressor on my Dads L322 and noticed that the pipes on his aren’t in a duct.

After removing the duct the pipes sat better.

After a bit of fiddling I had everything sitting properly. I couldn’t get the pipes right so I replaced the unions on the valve body which let me lay the pipes right before tightening them.

I then attached the lifting kit for the spare wheel to the back of the wheel well.

Was going to put the spare wheel in it tonight but decided to wash it so will put it back when it’s dry tomorrow.

I’ve ordered a packet of clips from Amazon to refit the heat shield which should be here tomorrow so once that’s back on, the car is finished!!! 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Managed to sneak back into the workshop when the wife wasn’t looking.

Spare wheel lifted in and positioned on the lifting strap.

You then close the lower tailgate and it drops the spare wheel into the well.

And after a quick jiggle it’s bolted in.

First time in a decade or more there’s been a wheel in there!

Boot floor now refitted too!
