The 2 different volume requirements are on a sticker under the bonnet, so garages shouldn’t really be putting the wrong amount of gas in, unless they don’t understand the 2 and 4 zone differences. The garage asked me when I had mine done.

I'm not saying it's not possible because mistakes do happen but I'd be surprised it's not just mis-print. As the dual zone system also has a greater capacity, to attain the same pressure, it requires more refrigerant and when they're filling a vehicle, they have the pressure gauges on the machine.

The machine will fill to whatever weight of refrigerant is input into it, the pressure values are immaterial during filling - and are temperature dependent anyway. At best, assuming they did a function check (unlikely) then as long as they see the high side go up and the low side go down once the engine is started and compressor engaged, for the majority of fast-fit's, that's 'good enough' - the same probably goes for most dealer filterspinners, across all brands.
