Just get the GAP. It will will more than pay for itself in saved time and trial and error parts swopping and the 2nd hand value is high so you won't loose much if you move on from JLR brand vehicles. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Hi John, I have the IID Tool, the SDD Software and a Hawkeye Total. The SDD is the hardest to use in that it's not easy to navigate the options and it does ask you to have an external 12v supply connected otherwise it won't run some of the tests. As it's a JLR diagnostic solution it is the most comprehensive but not the most convenient to use. The Hawkeye Total can do everything that the IID tool can do apart from CCF files. The IID tool is by far the easiest to use out of these 3 as it is easy to navigate and being Bluetooth means no cables. It is by no means perfect but has a good support service which goes someway to justifying the cost.

Also more people on here have the GAP tool than any other so more help available with diagnosing fault codes and using the various features. GAP themselves are also very good a responding to questions. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

As others are saying, GAP IDD tool. Ive used it on my L322's and it will read codes on my Freelander2. Expensive but worth it. Gavin

Hi, I Dont think it is Expensive ![]() ![]() If you want to buy one new £440ish I went for a previously owned IId, a fair price is £300, if you Need one now you might pay £350 then add £25 for New Owner change over, all of which is done very smoothly by GAP. (your getting near buying new mind ![]() There Good Value if you bought at £300 you are always going to sell it at £300 so its going to actually cost you £25 ![]() I have programmed a spare key (only came with 1 key) so thats cost £14, so starting to win already, I have also last week had the aircon charged and monitoring the system pressure (car off) to make sure its holding pressure ok, it is, winning a bit more next doors FL2 rear PDC acting up plugged in my IId and 1 sensor giving odd readings replaced and all good that got my a beer another win ![]() There good value, (at £300) straight forward to use and have good back up. ![]() |

I have Land Rover’s T4, Gap IID (old non-Bluetooth), and BBS’ Faultmate. Faultmate is my preferred diagnostic tool especially for detailed access to the electronic modules but the IID is always in the car if needed, especially as I don’t need to set up a PC to use it. I also have access to Autologic if I am at my local independent. Ron B. VK2OTC
