OK not quite sure where to start but after nearly 15 years of ownership it looks like the old girl is finally getting tired and worn out. Its developed a few issues which may or may not be related.

Stats.
as mentioned its a TD6 54 plate
159,000 miles
Has the oil filter breather mod
Frequent oil and filter changes.
Totally standard, no remaps, original hoses never been messed with or needed any work other than servicing.

Symptoms in order of when they started.

1) We started to get a leak, wet and dripping from subframe but looks to be coming from higher up ie drips on the AC compressor and intercooler hoses. fluid looks and feels like ATF fluid. My first though was a power steering leak but we are not losing steering fluid I would say its a persistent drip rather than a split hose gush. Having stripped stuff out of the way to take a look it appears the underside of the EGR cooler is wet? We are losing coolant every now and again we have to top it up, i would say every 2-3 weeks, doesn't overheat gauge stays in the middle albeit i have noticed it seems to take a while to heat up although i may be imagining this.

2) Loss of power, doesn't go into limp mode or anything like that but seems very sluggish sometimes, floor it and it picks up but normal driving it feels like there is no guts.

3) Hi pitch screech/wine doesn't sound like normal fanbelt sound etc.. only happens above 2000 RPM seems to be only when driving i cant seem to replicate when on the drive in neutral and looking in the engine bay. also when the engine is switched off i get a sort of screech/grinding for a split second. My initial thought was Turbo but given issue 1 i am also thinking water pump?

Having read the codes with IID it has many but when cleared these are the persistant ones.

So i took the Range Rover out as i realised that we didnt have enough Beer to get us through the next few days to survive what used to be called Summer!

I tried to video and capture some of the noises.

Start- at idle at traffic lights
Middle noise when reves go over 2000rpm
Screech when switching off engine, sounds louder than it is generally as was in a covered car park?

Anybody??? Im starting to worry now!

I would be inclined to remove the engine fan and see if you can find and sort out the leak.
The power drop l have no idea about but have to wonder if your fuel pump is a bit suspect. The fuel pump underneath on the passenger side.
The noise l have never heard on my own Td6 but would suspect either water pump of belt tensioner. I’d check the belt tensioner first, easier and cheaper.
If you do remove the fan don’t bother putting it back until you have definitely sorted the problems if ever, you don’t really need it.
Just an addition, if you are going to remove the egr heat exchanger, albeit temporarily, l would be inclined to change the engine thermostat while you are there. Easy job.

Can the IID tool look at the fuel pump? I am feeling like i need to try and divide and conquer the issues my gut feel are that they are not related and just unlucky that i have a few seperate issues.

Ill start with trying to get to the bottom of the leak.

Don’t know about the IID tool, haven’t got one.
To be honest if the pump is original and has done 159k l would replace it anyway.
Another thought about the engine noise, have a look at the condition of the crankshaft pulley, it incorporates a rubber vibration damper which may have deteriorated allowing the metal pulley to scrape the engine casting.

I think i need to start clearing the front of the engine!

only replaced the alternator last year so should be fairly fresh in my mind, i still remember the scrapped knuckles.

Good call on the noise when i can see it ill take a look.

Much appreciated when the weather cools a bit ill get to look at it.

So havent had time to strip down the front of the engine yet plus was a tad hot!

However replaced a very small tube on the Turbo Vacuum solenoid and reread the codes, i haven't taken it for a drive yet but they seemed to disappear!

I did read the fuel stats for each cylinder and it comes up with the following.
