Have you considered installing the sensor wiring repair kit LR108438, as referenced in LTB01083? |

I was not aware is a wiring kit, so going to order one now ,fingers crossed. Mercedes AMG w207

3 crimp joiners are normally used but you might organise your own joiners especially if you don't have the crimp pliers. |

WELL FITTED THE WRING MOD AND WAS RUNNING GREAT UNTIL THE ALTERNATOR HAS NOW PACKED IN DOH, THINK IT MIGHT BE UP FOR SALE SOON LOL. Mercedes AMG w207

The alternators that LR fit don't last nearly as long as an alternator should and shouldn't be taken as an indication of the state of life for everything else on the vehicle. I had to replace mine's alternator at 150K kms which is typical but still poor life for an alternator. |

I removed the alternator from the top, after removing the fan shield c/w fan (LH thread - light tap) and belts. Don't split the a/c pipe as it can be moved out of the way. The lower bolts in the fan shield were awkward because I didn't have a suitable ratchet and the ramps weren't high enough to allow adequate room for my arms to move. I've since purchased a 1/4" battery-operated ratchet although a 1/4" air ratchet would be smaller.
