New control arms and ball joints fitted (done by someone else as the ball joints are bastards to remove from the knuckles) new tie rod ends, new rear brake flexi, the rubber had sprung a leak, steel line was surprisingly good, brakes bled and new fluid changed, tracking sorted and driving like a brand new car again.

Drove to my Son's house for his birthday and fathers day, and yes I had to drive as my wife will not drive my car, so drinks for me when I got home.

Planned to change the front disks and pads. Pad retaining pins seized in the calliper body and didn't buy a fitting kit so couldn't cut them out. Then on closer inspection decided that the disks and pads were OK and didn't need changing afterall...... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Thanks to WizzAir cancelling my Son's Friday evening flight back from Larnaca, Cyprus to Gatwick he finally got a flight back with Jet2 to .....Manchester (2am Sunday arrival) So being a good Dad, off I set for a road trip in the middle of the night to collect him and two mates leaving Knebworth in my 4.2 Supercharged, giving it it's longest run in my ownership - 360 mile round trip. A1,M1,M6, M6 toll, M6 again and the M56 at a steady 70mph... Filled the tank to the brim with Tesco Momentum at Β£1.99 costing Β£180 - I had 40 miles left according to the computer.

Had new front brake discs and pads fitted at MJ Fews plus O/S/F cv gaiter. Then took it home to give it a damn good waxing and clean, not been done for a few months, rather neglectful of me.
