I really like the Pirelli Scorpion All Seasons with the PNCS (Pirelli Noise Cancellation System) they're very quiet on the road and seem to handle well.

We've got them on both our 2007 Supercharged and the 2012 4.4 AB.

Even though it wasn’t my intention to hijack this thread I think I just did. After my wheels received positive comments I will need to buy 4 tyres 275x40x22 and obviously the right load rating etc for the car. Price isn’t really an issue, I was thinking Scorpions but where the best place to get ‘em fully fitted. Geoff

I’ve just replaced my 22” Scorpion Verdes with Scorpion Zero (all season, ncs) and Asdatyres was the cheapest at £1,025.

I could use the fitter I really like which was a nice bonus, he doesn’t work with Blackcircles anymore which is normally the cheapest option.

Always difficult to compare used and new tyres but they are noticeably quieter. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I found National Tyres cheaper than Blackcircles. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

It pays to look around… this morning black circles are £328 per corner whereas asdatyres is an unbelievable £65 less at £265

National tyres website is broken for me so can’t compare those at the moment.

These are the Pirelli scorpion zero all season ncs in 285/45 R22.

The 275/40’s are £280 each and “only” £30 cheaper than black circles offering.

If I wasn’t haemorrhaging money elsewhere at the moment, I’d buy them now! Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

In 275/40/22, the Scorpion Zero AS NCS are £235.25 fitted at F1 Autocentres. I usually find these are the cheapest on premium tyres...

Does anybody know if the Pirelli PNCS Tyres are available for a L322 (ie 19” wheels)? If so where did you find them?

I know this is an oldish threat but I finally bit the bullet on some tyres and just bought a set of Pirelli Scorpion zeros for my SC - £660 via Formula 1 and grabbed some cashback via one of the sites as well.. Asda tyres were same price but no cash back option. Old tyres were the same but old enough to be cracked and new tyres have already improved the economy if that was possible and feel much better. I did look at the PNS version but didn't seem worth the extra spend versus what it would save based on my research.

So once again my tyres are down to the markers on the front, getting fed up with this ,I buy premium tyres, but they just don’t last.
So just over a year ago 4, new Pirelli verde scorpions at great expense fitted, 5500 miles later knackered!
Where we are is very rural, and many tight bends, so to be expected that tyres are being scrubbed out by such a heavy car, I’m now thinking to fit budget tyres, half the price, same ratings, can afford to change every year.
Most of our driving is at 40 mph, as I said rural roads, I’m thinking why pay,280€ per corner plus fitting
When I can get, a rated tyre at 120€ a corner
And afford, to replace every year.
And I have life insurance on my wife!

Been researching tyres myself, have a mixture on my 4.4L405, Scorpion Verdes on the rear and Continentals on the front (was like that when I bought it)
I use a mobile fitter and asked him about Accelera IOTA - ST68's as they get a good review from other RR owners and are half the price.
He also recommended the KHUMO's, but to be honest we need a ginea pig to road test either of these - up for it?

I don't tend to throw mine around as it weighs 2.5tonnes, and I have something else in my garage for that.
But have had Accelera PHI's on my E class and they were 275 30 R19 at the rear, got 30K out of them.

But seriously, I *personally* think from my experience that:

The absolute budget (like accelera iota etc) tyres start off OK, but they soon loose their suppleness, and as a result they can become a bit less grippy on wet roads. I live in the west of scotland, it rains, a lot, and I found that when pushed (like on a roundabout) the accelera iotas would start to slip sooner than mid/high tier brands. That being said, I found they were far from the ditch-finders which forums spout them to be if you drive sensibly.

Going into the middle tiers - I like Kumho. Have been consistently decent in all weathers, and in summer and winter tread patterns. Its probably worth spending a little more to get into the bracket above budget.

High end - Beyond pirelli, i'm not interested. Conti have been a disappointment, cracked in the past, and didn't last long wear wise for other tyres. Similar with Dunlop. I cant say thought that I've felt that the high end tyres have ever offered performance which merits the increase in cost over the mid range stuff personally.

So with all that in mind, I fitted relatively cheap 22" Radar AT5's! cause i'm a daftie. ( but in all honesty, they've been great so far )

Ive just swapped from Contis to Pirelli PNCS for the lower noise benefits and am pleased so far.

I had a BMW 335i before the FFRR and has Dunlop Rainsports on, very good for a tail happy RWD car, and had Falkens which were also very good but cheaper. Top brands may give a little bit better performance but on the road, I've been more than happy with the Falkens. If they did quiet tyres I'd have fitted them to the FF. First time FFRR owner
