Radio Code

G’day, have had to fit new battery as the cold has killed this one (L322 03) model. but in doing it I have to re-enter the 4 digit pin which I have, as I enter I find there’s no box with enter in it only “ change “ or deactivate.

My question is to any one that can help me with the sequence you go through to enter the 4 digit pin.

Thanks in advance 🇦🇺

I don’t think it has a radio code.

There is an immobiliser code, that you can set yourself that has to be entered before the car will start….

This is what i have been doing, so I’m guessing that the radio amplifier is toast (in the boot)
I have work to do and this system is a PITA…..parts for BMW audio systems are getting harder to find!
From what I’ve read on the forum is that water gets in the rear corner onto the electronics and fries them, is there a way to stop this from happening apart from relocating the amplifiers?
Thank you mjronfield, i can now get on with the repairs. Very Happy

The amplifier won’t cause this issue I don’t think. A couple of members have had the car do this after disconnecting battery, and I think the emergency deactivation worked after a few tries. Ignition on, and a countdown from 10 or 15 minutes starts… you wait and then should be ok. From memory that…

Re the amp, Land Rover sell a “water shedder” to protect the electronics, but it’s just a plastic bag that goes behind the frame.

Thank you, i will give it a try just to get myself familiar with the system……a plastic bag aye, geez that inventive !!

Also I’ve noticed the the orange light doesn’t come on the audio screen….i do remember this coming on a good while ago.
Dose this mean the head unit isn’t working?

Everything is controlled from the boot. The screen is literally just a screen, with a tape deck behind it.

So if the orange light isn’t glowing above the left side rotary knob does this mean the screen is toast or the radio amplifier?

I have worked out the the red flashing light (top right side ) is something to do with the Telephone.

Is there an easier system that l322 owners have fitted in their vehicles?

So the orange light above the LH rotary knob is that controlled by the radio unit in the boot OR the screen ?
