Perfect that sounds reasonable. I am under no false illusions that with a heavy right foot the number will drop. This will equate for most of my driving but its good to know that on a long motorway trip the economy is far better. |

I also found late 20’s was easily achieved with the 5.0 SC (L405 not so much the L322) when driving ‘normally’. |

mid to late 20's is totally achievable in 5.0 s/c had many and they are bomb proof, at least mine were and have been |

No LWB or SVA experience (which will use more fuel) but my SWB (510) gets maybe 25mpg on longer journeys at steady speeds, down to 16mpg when restricted to shorter journeys only with higher urban stop-start content, average maybe 22mpg (on car's calculation, probably optimistic) on my driving year round (say 10,000 miles). Higher rolling resistance tyres in winter and off road use increase consumption, but absent lockdown there is little urban content in that 10,000. Towing is quite hard on fuel, I've seen 4mpg instant consumption taking a trailer up a hill track. The diesel is better if you do any quantity of towing. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Like you “paddy” I was on the look out for a L405 LWB. It took a while around 2 yrs to find the one I wanted. But it was worth the wait. I went for the 4.4 Diesel MY 2019. Glad I hung to find one, As it was worth the wait, the LWB is great and the Diesel engine is very strong. I tow with mine and get around 20 mpg and up to 30 mpg solo around the doors. I don’t drive it lightly, so ok with these figures. There is a lot of info on this forum so do your research and my advise would be hang in there and get the car you want. ( part of the reason it took so long to find mine is I wanted to buy off main dealer to get the extended warranty) which has been a god send. |

On mixed driving I usually get about 23. Did 300 miles towing a car trailer yesterday and got 27 - mostly dual carriageway/ motorway with cruise set to the 60 limit (give or take 10% ) but incl an hour in M25 mostly parked traffic. Using the performance (acceleration rather than top speed) can obviously drop into single figures, but you have to really want to do that as its not very comfortable in the corners so fun typically means short bursts rather than sustained efforts over half an hour and that's easily accommodated in the 20+ results.
