L322 modifying seats and door cards from 2003 to 2012…. He

Hi all, really in need of some help and advice, I recently bought a new roof liner that was off a 2012 l322, when I arrived at the chaps place he had the car there with all the interior, after talking with the chap he said that the seats and door cards would simply just bolt into my car, so we did a deal and I cam away with the seats, after a week of cleaning the seats putting in new roof liner and removing the old interior I finally got around to putting the new interior in, I started with rear seats, they all went in well and easy, they the front seats, but when I put them in, the brackets are a different size to the mounting points on the car, has anyone done this or know how I can resolve this issue? Also the plugs and the front door cards are different, can these just be rewired if I get the plugs that fit?
I also had the steering wheel, that fits and all plus fit, but only function that seems to work is the heated steering wheel, the rear heated seats work fine as the plugs were the same, also rear windows and automatic locks work.
Would really appreciate any help you can give me on this
My Range Rover is a 2003 l322 td6 vogue se, the seats door cards and steering wheel were out of a 2012 l322 Westminster .

Many thanks

I did exactly this mistake on my old 2002. I got 2010 heated seats and couldn't fit them at the front. I eventually settled on a compromise, and used a set of supercharged front from a 2005/6 model, which fitted perfectly. but they were only heated.... I didn't bother trying to make the rear screens to work. I got the front seats for £150 online, delivered. the plugs are same, and holes etc. direct fit. but the later ones. (I don't know when they changed) are completely different. I sold the 2010 fronts to a guy to fit in a camper van.

Hi John , thanks for your reply… I’m sort of set on keeping the seats as they all match everything beautifully, the inside really looks amazing now, I was thinking of hopefully changing or modifying the brackets and finding some way of rewiring them if possible

Maybe you can can canabilise both sets and make a set work. The later seats have more airbags, you need them to work properly for the dash SRS light to go out.. after that, it’s just tracing out the controls etc. I’m sure someone done, it…. Possibly on here?
I was told it’s possible to move a seat base to opposite side to make a decent passenger base work as a driver seat, so that means they are not handed…although the armrest would need a blanking plug? . But that only what I was told, not proved.

I think Matt Stevenson may have done it. He is on here and runs the Range Rover Owner FB group..

The early seats don’t have air bags in, so I imagine you can just leave the ones in the later seats disconnected?

Yes I was thinking just leave the airbags in the seat disconnected, the others are still connected so no lights on, only really need the seat to move, the rear seats work so I’m sure there is a way to get the front working, I’m thinking new brackets are going to have to be made for the floor so the new seats can be bolted down,
As for the steering wheel, are these not just buttons? They could be just wired different to the old ones, as the heated steering works fine.
Has anyone got a contact for Matt Stevenson ?

He might reply here if he sees it. You need at least 10 posts before you can send a Private Message I think.
