The only wire I had to touch in the headlining was the cable that you run in as part of the wiring loom for the side steps.

There’s a long part of the wiring loom that you run up the A pillar into the head lining and that connects to the switch for the side steps. I didn’t have to touch any of the other wiring in the headlining.

Which instructions are you following?

Here’s the instructions for the 07-09MY.

Ah they will fit straight on to yours ffrr- lover and with the correct looms. Will £650 seal the deal lol?

Dhallworth that link doesn't work im afraid, just shows the open button but page is all tinted out.

Actually whilst doing all this today, I'm lead to believe my car has had deployable steps on it before but removed for some reason. The holes in the sills were missing the rubber bungs for the wiring to the steps, there was marks on the chassis where you could see that they was fitted and also, they left the electrical connector in the fuse board for the steps, they just cut it off and taped over it. Not very professional. So i wonder if they have Censored something up removing them.

Sorry dhallworth, I'm using these instructions that are for pre-10 and after. It's shows 2 different wiring looms in the pics as you can see. So i must have the wrong loom me thinks as the wire into the roof has the main switch plug plus another little plug and a loose wire which should go somewhere but I'm thinking it's for the 2010 models.

Try this link. These are the 2007-2009 instructions.

https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/s...;view=FitH

Just looked at the instructions in the Wiki. That step that you’re not sure of is not something I had to do on mine so think these instructions might be right for you.

If not sell your 2 looms - profit - and I’ll pay what you paid for the steps and get the loom myself Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks

Thanks for that David, seems i do have the wrong loom. John craddock is only up the road from me so I'll just bite the bullet and go there to buy the correct loom. I'm also hoping he's got the correct module too for my year.

Ah Douglas you are so right but still, I've got them now and will collect the looms tomorrow morning hopefully. But like you say, I'll sell both looms so hopefully not much of loss there.

And just sent him a message before you sent that link David, so hopefully he'll get back to me tonight and I'll collect them tomorrow. Thanks David.

I can see a bidding war going on here, if i do decide to sell. Are we allowed to do that? Laughing

Well, we'll soon find out because if i can't get them to work tomorrow with the new loom then I'll just get rid.

Good for you. That’s what I’d do.

Hope it sorts all the issues for you.

I've sorted the ccf out, i updated the iid tool and it's now working. Seats aren't though, i think it may just be a fuse.

David, I've bought that loom and module, I'm going to collect it in the morning, thanks for that.

While i was stripping the interior by the pedals, i came across this switch right underneath, but as the battery was disconnected i couldn't press it, anyone have an idea what it does? Bit of strange place to put a switch.

The single wire that is in the roof console will go into the black plug that you will have to split? It does come apart the other loose black plug will not go anywhere must be for something else? as I said I have fitted three of these?
If yours had them before may be a little more tricky?
