They are pretty easy for a competent DIYer, just follow the workshop manual and common sense. |

Is this tea a thing then? The old polish trick? All my seatbelts take an age to retract and it’s very annoying especially when unknowing passengers shut the door and trap the belt buckle- such a rewarding noise…… 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography

Whilst I can say that when cleaned and polish applied, they do retract much more quickly! What I cannot say is how long it lasts for as my attempt was half arsed.

That’s brilliant, I’ll give it a go, any improvement is better than what they are like now, I’m fed up of wincing and repeating myself to others to be careful when shutting the doors! 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography

As per Ffrr-lover, I found that extending them all the way out & a thorough soaking / clean using a detergent (I used a carpet cleaning fluid as I had some to hand) then allowing to fully dry before reeling back in made a world of difference. It’s also worth removing the b pillar trim as there’s a metal bar attached to the body that the belt slides over that becomes clogged up with fluff etc and slows the belt down |
