4.4 TDV8 2011 - buy water in fuel sensor?

I've had a look at the Advanced Factors site and can't see the individual cable listed.

Some fool tried re-fitting the cable to the water outlet and has damaged it's internals when I was changing the fuel filter.

Does anyone know if you can buy just to cable or a cheap assembly with the cable? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

You can buy the whole filter housing (with a new cable, and filter) for a relatively sensible price.

I had the same issue, someone had broken off the terminal of the connector from the wire..

[edit] I've got a 3.6, though, I'm not sure if the 4.4 is the same - looks different.

There is a thread o(r two) on the water sensor for the 2011on.

IIRC the part was not available as a sensor alone, but as part of the whole filter housing at about £250. A 3.6 uses the same sensor with a different housing and the assembly was £70 approx. Additionally, ISTR that the sensor may now be available at a similar cost. Sure I've seen it recently but can't recall or find it yet.

Talk to Paul Redding at AF, he's a great help. Cheers

That's what I used on mine. I had a faulty sensor, intermittently giving me the water in fuel error. and a yellow restricted performance warning. This solved it permanently. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

I spoke to Maltings and this is what they said:

"Unfortunately, the singular part isn't made anymore and you have to buy the entire fuel filter housing assembly, of which we stock one but its about £140. The water in fuel sensor will fit both the 3.6 and the 4.4"

Since then, Maltings have started selling just the cable and sensor for £140 (basically you buy the whole housing and they only send you the cable and sensor and bin the rest).

So, I ended up buying a fuel filter assembly on ebay for a 3.6 and can confirm the cable and sensor fits the 4.4 TDV8. There's plenty on ebay for £25-30 with sensor and cable if anyone needs one and thinks £140 is a lot to fork out just for a cable.

Fitting time is 10 mins if changing the cable only and about 30 mins if changing the sensor also (which I did because the 3.6 sensor seems a better design, as it actually has a socket to guide the plug onto, which will prevent it getting damaged in future), as this involves removing the fuel filter, draining and re-fitting. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
