Tyre pressures

I noticed that my front tyres were under inflated- they were ! So I inflated to 33 psi with my airline BUT when I checked with my cheapo Chinese digital job it said 41.5psi what do others use and are the ones you pay for calibrated? Geoff

I use a hand held digital one. Think it might have been from Halfords years ago. No idea if it’s calibrated, but have never had uneven tyre wear from using it on various cars, so I top up air with whatever device…. And then check with that finally.

Might be wrong… but it’s consistent 🤣

Use a handheld dial indicator type. Pretty consistent with digital indicator on electric inflators. Foot pump gauge is out by as much as 10 psi at times. Garage forecourt indicators are woeful. Previous cars:

I had some slow leaks on both front and rear left tyres these last few months.
When they started to go down rapidly overnight thats when I got them fixed up.
The cheap and nasty gauges were useless,so I bought a Michelin tyre gauge MN 4203.
Easy to use and accurate. Thumbs Up

I use either the ring compressor or my local garage. But I set them using my draper pencil gauge. Like others, even tyre wear and it feels right so I trust it. visiting from www.rrsport.co.uk

I use a ring compressor run off the 12v supply the gauge is within a few psi accuracy but rely on the TPMS for accurate readings 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
