Large SUVs targeted again?

Anyone noticed the reports of green activists deflating tyres on large luxury SUVs? Not classed as criminal damage apparently, but where do we stand as it shouldn't be within the law to meddle with another person's property, surely?

They're shooting themselves in the foot by targeting EVs too. RR Westminster 2012 4.4 TDV8 Orkney Grey

People with a chip on their shoulder and too much time on their hands. Sure they will meet their match at some point who will be happy to deflate them.

Surely its a criminal act, causing a vehicle to be dangerous and unsafe on the road, and exposing danger to occupants and other road users? 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

The counter argument to that is that 'it is the drivers responsibility to ensure the vehicle is safe to use on the road'.

Having to inflate a tyre with an electric compressor uses energy, whether it be from a 12v aux power socket or rechargeable - there is till energy expended which is wasteful. RR Westminster 2012 4.4 TDV8 Orkney Grey

I guess they also haven't factored in the diesel recovery vehicles that will be called out to pump the tyres back up 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

I presume they're leaving cheques on the windscreens to assist with the cost of scrapping a perfectly usable vehicle in order to buy a newer car with a relatively short-lived battery which, of course, has no environmental impact from its production and shipping to the UK?

I was thinking the same, if they have to struggle to undo them then they may leave it or damage the valve stem which would then be criminal damage maybe? RR Westminster 2012 4.4 TDV8 Orkney Grey

These people are obviously entitled to their opinion, but when they start interfering with other peoples property they surely have stepped over the line. I can’t believe this isn’t an illegal act. I wonder what their combined carbon foot print was to carry out their “good work “ let alone for the rectification in some cases. My opinion clueless idiots who haven’t got anything better to do, who have sadly gained some national media attention.

Funny when consider the battery lasts longer than the bodywork, gearbox, crankshafts etc of JLR products?

I agree with most of your points, these protestors are crazy and need to be stopped. A decent piece of green sourced 4x2 may do the trick if applied to the back of the head. BMW i3 Electric Car

To further the lack of intelligence of the Green Bigots. The activists are causing large oil tankers to travel large distances to offload their cargo. I know they think that Russian Oil is different than Polish Oil, but it all comes out of the earth, and Big Oil says that oii is sustainable energy because the earth naturally regenerates the stuff. Its a pity that money to buy diesel does not regenerate and become sustainable in my wallet. Perhaps it would if I voted conservative and claimed expenses? I have developed a machine to generate everlasting electricity at no cost. People have died producing free energy, Mr Tesla did it and died. For information, I have been told there are over a thousand containers full of Lithium Car Batteries on UK docksides that the Japanese will not take back for recycling.

If these heroes are so brave : let them deflate the tires of the Queen and get ten years prison
for an attempt on the throne... Or maybe police or army vehicles : act of terrorism..

I think simply waiting for them to show up and then make them inflate all tyres with a handpump
will make them think twice before they try to be funny again. I-pace First Edition Santorini & 2nd car Mazda MX-30 Advantage red/black

They targeted the wrong vehicles. It’s not the shape of a vehicle that indicates the pollution /particles. The age and quality of the car are all important.

They don’t appreciate…..
You can drive a modern diesel into a polluted area and it emits cleaner air than it takes in….. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Put little bags of pigs blood on the valve stems, designed to explode if tampered with. A vegan/vegitarian covered in animal blood should put the feckers off. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged
