My Favourite L322 Mods!

Just thought i'd share a summary of all the mods i've done on my 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE, and hopefully gives others some ideas:

Range Rover logo puddle lamps!

I absolutely love these and they add a touch of pure, restrained class. Combine with the LED upgrade and you'll have your car looking 10 years newer!

Full LED upgrade (interior and exterior)

Ok so, there are cheaper ways of doing these mods but, you'll kick yourself when you realise you've bought cheap LEDs and they start flickering 3 months later - we've all seen them! Buy quality and they'll last the life of the car.

Key Fob Upgrade

This one was an absolute no brainer for me. 10 year old keys must be looking tatty by now and i think the 2014 key is one of the best looking car keys out there, including better than the 2019-> key (which is horrid). An absolute must do!

If you don't have a keyless car, check out the Bentley key upgrade available on ebay. They cut the blade to your photo then all you have to do is drop the transponder in and follow the programme procedure: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125077836566?ha...SwQ51hztiG

LED Comfort Lighting (like the L494 and L405)

Ok so not strictly necessary but after having an L494 for 6 weeks, i really appreciated having a faint hue of light glowing from the footwells. This was a really straightforward install - set the lights to white and minimum brightness and leave be!

Aluminium Pedals

A touch of retrained class for £12 and a 5 minute fit.

Hardwired Dash Camera

Don't look like a Poogeot driver with a suction cup and cabling dangling everywhere, serving no more than to demonstrate your ineptness. Hardwire it properly.

2006-> Bluetooth Audio (Non Bovee/Invery)

If you have a 2010-> car and can't afford the Bovee/Invery ipod adapter or have a 2006-2010 and want bluetooth audio without cables on show, then here's your answer!

3D Numberplates (and 4D)

No photo for you on this one because i want to keep my privacy. Check out Utopia Plates I got great service from them and super quick delivery. They do a Range Rover plate option. 2x 3D plates cost me £40 delivered - absolute bargain. If i were to reflect, i think the FFRR can get away with 4D plates without looking chavvy.

Custom Fit Boot Mat

I had a lovely quilted vinyl wipe-clean boot mat made for my L322. Ordered it on Aliexpress (just search L322 boot mat and loads of options come up). Keeps the dirt off the carpet and i just remove it and wash down with the hose. It cost me £24 delivered.

Heavy Duty Vehicle Ramps

I do not trust plastic or cheap Chinese welding on vehicles this heavy and a sloped surface. If you're like me and want absolute certainty your vehicle ramps won't fail, this is a really easy job!

I like your interior LED's. The cleaner whiter light looks great on your ivory interior Smile 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Nice.

I did exactly the same with the puddle lamps and LEDs on my L322.

Also, as yours is dark too, smoked side repeaters could be a plan ... What do I put here then?

I want any mod to be true to the restrained elegance of a Range Rover so, any change has to be subtle. A smoked light definitely wouldn't do it for me - clear, yes. But also no animations. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I put LED bulbs in the side indicators to match the rest of them.

Put LED in the H7 high beam units.

Pleased with both.

Not done much else to this one.

Exactly this kind of thing although, have to be careful as new MOT guidance basically says all driving lights must be incandescent or specifically designed LED units, not fittings designed for incandescent with an LED bulb.

This is for fairly obvious reasons:
1. Too many people buy cheap LEDs on ebay and they always fail, flicker etc and cause driving lamps to be ineffective
2. The angle of beam on most LEDs is narrower than that of an incandescent bulb and therefore, the refractors within the light fitting may not be effective

Yeah. Appreciate that… old bulbs in the boot.

The indicators look exactly like the original, colour and intensity wise, just with the instant on and off.

I’m too in to being restrained I suppose… err, that might have come out wrong 🤣
