Hi all,

So I have an issue with the drivers side deployable step on my 2010 L322, it just doesn't seem to be working. The passenger one seems to be working fine when unlocking the car and when opening the doors.

Can someone advise what things I should be checking in order to diagnose the issue and possible solutions to this issue.

On mine, I have them greased every service. Apparently they can get clogged and jammed with dirt.

It will work for longer if it`s clean, putting a lot of grease can hold more dirt? using a good CRC silicone spray and not WD40 will help?

I had the same issue a few days ago, I gave the hinges a good flush with WD40 and they work again and I intend give them a good grease up or maybe looking at fitting a grease nipple. Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I think fitting grease nipples would be a great way of sorting the lubrication issues with these. Filling them with grease would help keep the dirt and corrosion out.

I've seen a video of someone fitting them to something else before, but I'm not brave enough to do them myself without some guidance, so if you do fit them, can you document it please?! 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

my experience of the brackets on these suggests that they're not particularly strong and the design doesn't look as if its nipple friendly.
I've got a broken bracket if anyone wants one to play with before attacking their own good one?

When I get a chance I will have a look about the possibility of grease nipples, if brackets are really unfriendly you could tig a nut or something similar to mount a nipple or even drilling a hole half way through the pin and then drilling again at right angles.
I will have a look unless someone beats me to it.
