GAP have been saying they will add the newer RR for at least the last 2 years. I will believe it when I see it. SDV8 AB MY 2020

An extra oil change is the way to go its easy with the 10 litre Draper vacuum pump 77057 flea bay at £120 well worth it there are good threads on here on how to use it. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue |

Thanks very much for all the replies. I am going to do an extra oil change at the start of each season which fortunately is midway through my service interval so hopefully this will ensure there are no issues.

The best way is definitely an extra oil change, but you can always check the miles to next service on the dash to tell you how far you have to go. It works on an algorithm in the ECU to determine oil dilution, once you reach 7% it will register 0 and call for an oil service. Just be careful as on most it may say 2000 miles to next service but you only get say 600 due to short journeys ETC. I also tow a twin axle van and always chuck an oil service in at the beginning of the season, I keep my own record so I never go more than about 7k miles without an oil change |

So the question is!!!! What big change happened after MY16, that has completely defeated the GAP team? 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue |

I think Craig may have confirmed this on another thread, but my understanding is that for MY17 onwards there was a complete change in the Canbus system that connects all of the control modules which resulted in the IID tool (and others) being unable to talk to and re-configure the various control modules.
