If chirping not affected by rpm, are you sure it is accessory belt / pulleys ?

It's coming from the front of the engine low down on the left and if I spray WD40 down there it stops. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Think it's oil on the belt dripped down from spilling it while topping up without a funnel. Not easy to clean as it's so inaccessible. I can see a possible method with a stick and a pad soaked in brake cleaner to hold under the ribbed part as it's moving but it's not ideal and there's a ( big) risk it would slip and.... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Gave it a good squirt in detergent from a hand sprayer while it was running just now. Definitely a belt contamination issue as the chirp is exactly in time with a white marking on the belt and it goes quiet when the detergent was first squirted on ribbed side. May need a few applications to cure it. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
