Help me with my dilemma

My car has been throwing up an “engine system fault” every time I start it up for quite some time now. It shows fault P-132-B, which is an actuator fault. I’ve replaced the actuator linkage and sprayed it many, many times but to no avail.
I’ve had it into a specialist who has diagnosed the actual actuator and recommends replacing the turbo (OS, so not the worst of the pair to change) but still £1,000 worth of parts and labour.
So, here’s my dilemma, the car still runs and can still give a decent turn of speed and has never let me down. I’m only planning to keep the car for another year or so until I move on to (probably) a L405.
Given the car has a highish mileage (186,000 miles), I don’t want to throw a grand at it for the remainder of my tenure when it’s perfectly useable.
I know the car doesn’t have a huge resale value and this work is quite a large %age of its value, so should I cut my losses and sell it “as is”, or get it fixed and just suck up the cost of the new turbo? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Is the actuator moving freely, seized, or tight to move?

They have said the actuator linkage is moving freely, so I’m assuming it’s the bit the linkage connects to.
I’m picking the car up tomorrow , so no doubt I’ll have more info then.. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Just to follow up on this, they said the linkage was moving freely but they suspect that the actuator itself is faulty, so they has suggested replacing the entire turbo. I did ask if if was possible to replace just the actuator but they advised against it, so I'm still stuck in my dilemma............ Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Tough one Alan, as you say , probably 25% of the cars worth . I wouldn't , others may differ. even fixed, it's still a £5kish car.
Had a wee look:
08 plate on a/t for £5.5k 164k miles
08 plate ebay £5,999 143k miles

Selling it on here is probably the best place to get rid though Thumbs Up

Not much of a dilemma from my POV - no point sinking £1k into it if you are not going to keep it and it's not worth that much even if fully working. Offer it up on here or trade it in and hope for the best. Not probably the best time to buy a used car but if you want an L405 you are not buying on a budget so just cut your losses and move on. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thanks for your opinions guys, they do tend to agree with my thoughts right now.

I suppose the 1 thing that makes it stand out is that it's had the CEC conversion (some newbies might need to look that up) Whistle Which might add a little to its value.

And the deployable steps Thumbs Up

Well the garage said it was as much labour to get the actuator off, so they suggested it was best to do the turbo while it was off.

It did seem a bit sledgehammery but I might seek out some more opinions. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I hear you and I'd love that to be the case and if you can change one on a FF in less than 30 minutes, I'll pay your fare up to Glasgow to do it for me Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
