2011 Rain Sensor

Recently bought a 2011 RR L322 and noticed the Rain Sensor and Auto Lighrs were not working.
I changed the sensor and it still doesn't work. I then took it to my local specialist who put it on an Autologic diagnostic machine, and it came up with "Rain sensor Wiring Fault"

Has anyone else had this problem? I've tested the 12v supply wire to the module which is fine and the earth too. The only one I cant't test. Any clues? Many thanks.

As above. I had this issue for 3 years before solving it when I saw this video. I didn’t need to fully remove the seat from the car but tilted it back onto the rear seats, if that makes sense. Have a quick check of the other wires while you are in there Thumbs Up 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀

I am pleased to report that the fix worked and am very grateful.

I managed to access the loom by undoing the front seat retaining bolts and loosening the rear ones and tilting the seat backwards. Next thing was to remove the aluminium sill plate by a firm pull upwards and then remove the plastic plate underneath. The loom sits underneath.
The offending wires are to be found to the rear, towards the front of the seat. in mine they were to be found in the middle of the loom and comprised 4 wires with the ends wrapped in tape. On removing the tape, there were 4 cut ends not joined together at all. I stripped the ends and soldered them together and shrink wrapped the wire. On testing it, the light switch, when auto lights were selected the normally green lights on light, extinguised , and the rain sensor worked hen applied with water.
Time to do this about an hour. Very Happy

it saddens me to think that on such an expensive car £80,000 or $100,000 new, can leave the factory with such a basic fault. Also that it had 10 years of regular serviceing and in my case 10 years of £800 or $1000 a year worth of extended Land Rover warranty and STILL no one bothered to fix the fault. Maybe the previous owner (1 owner from new) were unaware of the existance of this feature, but it still would have popped up on every time the car was plugged in, at least 10 or more times.

For a premium brand, alledgedly, as the Americans would say, it sucks. Censored

Another huge thanks to Dannn for putting this up!

Since buying my L322 nearly four weeks ago I've not had automatic wipers or lights. I had a B10AD-87 code and had tried refitting the sensor to the windscreen (it was loose on one side) with no success. I had power and ground at the sensor and voltage on the LIN signal wire but nothing working. I'd read about issues with non genuine (LR) windscreens and thought that may be the problem as mine is a Pilkington but not LR branded.

However, I just spent an hour looking into this wiring and, lo and behold, there were the unconnected wires! A little solder, some heat shrink and everything is working perfectly! To say I'm delighted is an understatement.

At some point I think I will further investigate this wiring bundle as I noticed that there are lots of similar looking joints and presumably LR used the same biodegradable connectors on all of them!
