Wheel ramp recommendations

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…

I am looking for some wheel ramps to make under car maintenance easier and am looking for some suggestions for what to get.
Because life is life, things are never quite straight forward… in this case I’m in need of a set that can accommodate a slight slope on one side while still keeping the car level (I’m thinking for gearbox, diff, etc where the car needs to be level). Maybe a set that has “steps” as part of the ramp so I can place each wheel 1, 2, or 3 steps up?
Or would I be better getting a set with built in jacks so I can raise those corners?

The drive drops from the back (near the house) to the front, plus the right corner (near the road) drops even further. And, to make under car work more fun, it’s a gravel driveway too! I have a small roll of carpet I move around as I need it.

Any suggestions or alternate ideas? Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Hydraulic ramps. Not sure if you can get a set that you can raise to different heights?

This set up works well for me on my sloping drive, but you would have to place the lower side ramp on blocks to overcome side to side slope.

I recently sold some 5T Rhino ramps on here, they are supposed to be very good or anything of a similar design and strength capacity..

When I replaced my brake lines I reinforced the existing ramps with more angle iron uprights and used them in

conjunction with the extension pieces that I made (to get my Octavia Vrs on them). These now have a slight curve in them Smile

I did see a set a while back that had that. You drove onto the top part of the same and jack it up. It was an expensive option so moved on… Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

I had a set in which each ramp had a bottle jack to raise the top plate of the ramp. I got them off Ebay. IIRC they were about £100 the pair. John

My drive slopes two ways, so I decided which part of the drive I wanted the car to be on to work on it and made four drive on ramps out of timber, each a different height so when on them the car is level.

I get scared just seeing some of this. To me there is a reason why the floor should be level, and you shouldn’t use a ramp to make it level and lift.

I’d focus on levelling the ground first.

From a safety point of view it’s not an issue, the car is totally stable. It’s only about an extra 5 inches off the ground and I check with the car in N, EPB off that the car doesn’t move. Then, with the car in P and EPB on and the wheels chocked ( the chock you can see is held in with a long screw) I raise the suspension, stop the engine and put axle stands under the chassis. Finally I always open a door. Nothing moves.
Today a friend is discussing with a local garage why his car fell off a four poster while they were working on it.
